Michelle A. Spring, M.D.
Dr. Michelle Spring attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison where she was awarded a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with distinction in 1996, and her medical degree in 2001. She garnered several prestigious awards during her education, including induction into the national medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Spring continued her education and training at the University of Wisconsin, serving as a resident for five years in Integrated Plastic Surgery.
With a deep commitment to pursuing in-depth training in her chosen field, Dr. Spring applied and was selected for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery-approved fellowship with Dr. Grant Stevens in Marina Del Rey in mid-2006. Working with Dr. Stevens and his team, Dr. Spring focused on refining her skills and learning the latest cosmetic surgical techniques, gaining additional experience in surgery of the face, body and breast, including Dr. Stevens' Laser Breast procedure. Dr. Spring also participated in two important studies on abdominoplasty and mastopexy while at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates, authoring the study publications and giving presentations to her peers at the ASAPS national meeting.
Dr. Spring has been involved in community-serving activities, both medical and non-medical, much of her life. During 2007/2008, she is working with an organization called Interplast, a group that provides free plastic surgery and education to people in developing countries. Dr. Spring looks forward to a year as the Interplast Webster Fellow, where she'll be helping transform the lives of children and adults who otherwise would have no access to the kind of surgery they need to have a bright future, as well as providing education to local surgeons. She will go on roughly a dozen trips to countries in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and other corners of the globe before returning to the U.S. to begin practice.
